2017 Oct Biketoberfest

Biketoberfest 2017 started out with a curse before it even got started.  A week before the event took place the weatherman was predicting a weekend of rain.  What a bummer.

I arrived in Daytona Beach about 6:30 pm Tuesday evening for vendor setup.  The field was really soggy so I slept in the parking lot not wanting to risk getting stuck.  It rained off and on all night.  Wednesday morning I carefully made my way to my booth location and began setup.

Luckily Wednesday was a dry day and setup went fairly easy.  At sunset the clouds come rolling back in and another night of off and on showers.  No... that pond is not supposed to be there.

Thursday morning's weather turned out great.  Sunny and warm.  As the day progressed the field dried out somewhat.

This is a long distance shot of the main ride in gate.  Although the ground was slowly drying out bikers choice to park next to the pavement.

Friday morning we picked up a couple more vendors early.  Two parts dealers in tractor trailers had to cancel out.  They were afraid of maring up in the soggy ground.

Friday evening after closing.  Resting up and enjoying the sunset.  No rain, but the ground is still saturated.

Saturday morning started out sunny and beautiful.  The bikers were still parking near the pavement.  No one wanted to take a chance on their kickstands maring up in the soggy ground.

The beautiful part of the day brought in a nice crowd.  Everyone had much fun.

A couple hours before closing we started getting off and on showers.  It did not take kong for the crowd to disperse.  Weatherman calling for the same Sunday.
